Drenthe trendsetter in the spotlight: SKNN PVC Frames (The Netherlands)

For over a quarter of a century, SKNN PVC Frames (Kunststof Kozijnen) from the Dutch town of Emmen has been an established name in the Drenthe region. Managing director Martijn Scherpen invests heavily in new technology and software to make the company — founded by his father and uncle in 1999 — ready for the future, together with Deceuninck.

Second-generation manager Martijn has transformed the company into a high-tech profile processor where some 1,250 private customer projects are completed each year. "Since the very beginning, SKNN's focus has been on processing plastic profiles for the Dutch construction industry, especially in the Drenthe region", he explains. "Today, we have a state-of-the-art plant for the production of profiles, windows, doors and sliding windows in plastic. It is fully equipped with machinery and precision equipment to give our customers the best possible service. Soon we will occupy a second building to raise the bar even higher.”

Because SKNN PVC Frames’ customers are increasingly demanding in regards to thermal insulation, the company offers them ThermoFibra: innovative profiles with structural glass fibers that enable even higher insulation values. "Our customers are very satisfied with ThermoFibra and our fitters are very happy as well: the sashes weigh less but still offer similar strength to steel reinforcement. The collaboration runs perfectly: with a reliable partner like Deceuninck, we never have to compromise on innovative products and we are sure that sustainability is always high on the agenda."
